For the NIGHT SHOW

It is a photo I took on 35mm film from the view out of my bedroom window in the L.E.S. 3 years ago.
This has been my view for 8 years now.
In fact I moved to a 6 floor walk up to ensure that one day I would be able to enjoy such a view.
I spent many sleepless days awake from the night before from closing my Bar.
This photo represents pretty much the only sunlight I saw for years.
So for this show I will be reproducing this photo onto linen/canvas.
The painting will be oil paint and reappropriated cigarette butts that will spell "last call" glued to the finished painting.
I am a co-founder of Lit Lounge in New York City.
The paintings represent the first ten years I spent in NYC behind a bar and in night life.
I never saw the real sun light during that period in NYC.
These paintings represent the sunlight I saw for that period from 1996-2006.
